How should I approach my doctor?

Im starting to get some acne scars on my cheeks and have some facial redness left from spots that have cleared. on top of this I have really dark eyes and red around the eyelids.

I was on minocin last year for acne which helped a good bit and although my acne isnt the worst now, there are always some spots on my face. just as some go a few more will appear. its constant in that sense even if its not that bad.

my issue is, I am afraid to go to the doctor over this in case its viewed as vanity. even if I tell him its making me depressed and anti social.

I have a beautiful girlfriend and when I look in the mirror it makes me wonder how she can find me attractive. I feel like I look like a junkie.

its got to the point were i am using cover stick over red areas and around my dark eyes, which highlights my problem and causes slight shame (im male)

seriously contemplating getting some laser surgery or would the GP be the best bet?

PS. im 25 so this isn't a hormonal teenage type thing

    any advice would be appreciated

Go to your doctor first. There isn't anything wrong with asking for help from a GP. I certainly wouldn't call it vanity. If it is causing you to worry, then get help.

You won't regret it. Doctors aren't monsters, and some of them actually like helping people. :)

I had very bad acne for years and the doctors said it was oily skin and this and that ,but a guy came to the house selling water filters for domestic water supply within 2 days my acne disappeared never to come back .The moral of the story is look for other reasons for your acne sometimes conditions are caused by allergies and food imcompatibilities ,try to not use drugs because they often cause other problems.
