Purchasing software for my Computer

    Hey all,

    I came across this website which sells software for computers at really good (cheap) prices. See link below;

    http://authenticsoftware.net/

    The company say they are based in California and seem to run under two names, Deluxe Discounter Ltd and Deluxe Downloads Ltd.

    There prices however seem to good to be true and i'm worried its all a scam! I have "googled" the company on the net in search of reviews, etc and have found nothing.

    Just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this company or what people think of their website??

    Any opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Scam would be my guess; to cheap to be true is just that.

    Its a scam, only an idiot would give them credit card details

    I find there T&C's amusing
    Chargeback Policy:
    9.1 Chargebacks are not good neither for you nor for our Store because in this case you will lose 10% of your money and your credit card’s fraud rate will increase which in its turn results in inability to make other purchases online. That’s why its simpler to make all the disputes together with our Support team and resolve them in a timely manner;

    They'll likely string you along for a few months until you can no longer do a chargeback for the payment,

    Too be honest as badly written as their T+C are they are selling OEM software hence why they prices are so cheap. There are plenty of European websites selling OEM versions of the software for the same price.

    SCAM

    The address 162 west texas street fairfield ca doesn't exist or is residential.

    The code also uses absolute URLs which makes it easy for the scammers to move the site elsewhere and to have multiple versions

    This version is owned by a Russian:
    Ad / Name Andrey Polev
    Adres ul. Krasnaya d.117 kv.119 Solnechnogorsk Moskovskaya oblast 199538
    Tel +7.4963612199
    Faks +7.4963612199
    E-posta pulp@5mx.ru

    and it's registered in Turkey

    server located in EU

    The fact "authentic" is in the name should be warning enough!

    The site has a few badges/logos on it, one is cnet. if it really is "cnet verified" then I would expect to find it mentioned on cnets site, but there are no hits for it. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&complete=1&q=%2Bauthenticsoftware.net+site%3Acnet.com&cts=1267722933354&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=

    Another scam. The website has been registered through a secure proxy company, in Belize, which is about the dodgiest thing I've ever heard of. Stay away from this, as it is definitely not genuine.

    Actually, I just noticed that they also claim the same address in CA, and that post is likely to be spam, so it's deleted.

    Thanks for that I will stay well away from the website so. Also there was no need to delete my message as I was genuine in asking the question and was trying to help other people not get caught out with these chancers on scam sites. I only joined last night so maybe you thought it was spam so I understand. Anyway thanks again for the help .

    8.3 After having received a refund you must delete all software and files you received from our Store and our support team;

    I'm pretty sure since they're just "selling" the product and not administrating the serial keys the software comes with - they cannot tell if you have deleted the software or not. Again, a very badly written T&C.

    "- other reasons which are can’t be handled by our Support team;"

    Even more bad English.

    "2.5 Software can’t be registered on-line due to the definite limitations;
    2.6 You won’t be able to receive any printed license confirmation;"

    Even if they do send you the downloadable program, you will most likely be in possession of an illegal/pirated copy.

    All signs of a dodgy company :)
