too small unfortunately. i think for them to be comfortable they have to be close to your normal shoe size, not perfect but close. thanks though

I have a pair of Specialized Sonoma in 45 you would be welcome to free. The only issue, which may scupper your plans, is that the reason I am not using them is the sole is worn on one of them in such a way as to make securing a SPD cleat very difficult/impossible, it works its way loose.

OP: I went to do this to an old pair of Etnies a few years ago, but had the same problem, most of the old pairs were being discarded because they were totally knackered, or really just too worn to make the job worthwhile.

that sounds great, it'll give me a chance to have a practice run anyway.

if anyone else has anything else i'd still be interested anyway incase they don't work out.

i'll shoot you a pm shortly blorg

EDIT: @ Harrybelafonte; i'll give a go anyway for a laugh and see if i can make it work.

Why do you need cycling shoes? Could you not just use sheet aluminium or something?

probably, but that's a bit more effort than i'm willing to go to :)
