Just seen on the BBC website that general admission tickets for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone are sold out. Only grandstand seats left. That's a bit mad isn't it.

    for anyone going to silverstone
it is a great place to camp out
we have done so at least 4 times, as acommodation was over the top
the campsites have all the amenities, you go down the village at night and the craic is mighty, plenty food outdoors stalls with plenty tables and chairs, you dont need to carry much, if its a jeep, just pillows and duvets will be fine, as you will spend your whold time walking and having fun, you will not need a bed you will be that tired, the campsites are 5 to 10 minuit walks from the track,
then again if you are staying in some acommodation within 20 miles, you will be from 5 in morning until midday stuck in a vehicle in choking traffic, best bet is pull in to campsite friday evening and depart sunday evening after or wait until monday morning
    but camping is best
breakfast barbcue in camp they will serve you breakfast it is just so different and more ease, no rush, no hot smouldering cars, just fresh air and fun

Can't wait for silverstone this year. Never been to silverstone before and camping should be good craic. Gettin the ferry to holyhead and then drivin down to cheer on the Mclaren lads.

The general admission tickets have been sold out for a while now.

I got tickets for the Copse terrace for £175 but I'll use them as GE because you see much more that way.

goat2 where do you normally stay? We usually head for Whittlebury and can't fault it.

Never thought of wandering into the village though. Always assumed the pubs would be mental and you wouldn't get near them.

Might give it a go this year.

The White Horse in Silverstone will be bulging at the seams... the kitchens not bad, not quite gastropub but edible...the general store opposite the pub is good but expensive .. captive audience...

tents.... get there as early as possible and pick a space... again packed..... but good fun.. try to pick a corner.. then you are not threading your way amongst the tents.. just step over the low barrier...
