Thinking of selling on my PS3.. how much?!

Unfortunately.. am in a house with a Xbox 360, numerous PC's, a Wii, a DS Lite and a PS3.. and not enough time to play one, never mind all of them.

Want to help soften my April / May months with an impending tax renewal, NCT test and insurance renewal so have decided to sell on my (roughly) 15 month old PS3 ("Phat").

It's unfortunately rarely been played. Main reason I bought it is for Blu-ray playback.. but Blu-ray players have gotten cheaper so might pick one instead.

So anyone wanna try and gauge much would you estimate I sell the following for..

Phat PS3 (120GB.. I think.. but could be 80GB) with 1 Controller and the following games all in great nick.. and like I said, barely played (some still in plastic):

    - Fallout 3 (played once for 30 minutes)
    - DJ Hero w/ turntable
    - Assassins Creed (Platinum)
    - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (Platinum)
    - Batman: Arkham Asylum
    - LittleBigPlanet
    - Stranglehold
    - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09
    - Buzz TV Quiz w/ 4 buzzers

    Thanks in advance.

Don't suppose i could convince you to hang onto it for God Of War 3?

    Ha!

Believe me mate.. I've been thinking of reasons to hold onto it but outside of Blu-ray playback, it's just sitting there!

personally id axe the wii and 360, id gauge it at 10 for each game as there old , 40 for the dj turntable and 200 for an unreliable ylod ps3. Making it 320

The stream to your tv from the PC is a good reason too!
Tversity just announced support for ANY site that shows videos in flash, so streaming movies, live feeds etc will be easy.

Phat PS3 (120GB.. I think.. but could be 80GB) with 1 Controller and the following games all in great nick.. and like I said, barely played (some still in plastic): - €200ish

    - Fallout 3 (played once for 30 minutes) - €10-15 (GOTY edition is out now)
    - DJ Hero w/ turntable - €40-60 hard to gauge really, hype about the game has really died down
    - Assassins Creed (Platinum) - €10 max
    - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (Platinum) - €10-15
    - Batman: Arkham Asylum - €18
    - LittleBigPlanet - €15
    - Stranglehold - €5-€10
    - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 - Dunno
    - Buzz TV Quiz w/ 4 buzzers - €35-40?

    That would be my guesses

EDIT: Some of my guesses may be a bit high updated

    Cheers tonydude and witnessmenow.

    I'd be aiming for maybe €320 - €350 alright.

Can't get rid of Wii or Xbox - the Wii is brand new and was bought as a console for the girlfriend too and I've far more games for the 360 including the Rock Band Set (that I can't part with!) :D

If I can't sell this, do Gamestop offer cash (or is it credit only) for a console trade-in?

I would not trade it into a shop. Flog it on adverts or Ebay, limit it to Ireland only or postage oand delivery cost reasons. You will get far more for it. Do not go near gamestop for trade ins, if you see the amount they give you and what they will put it up for sale for second hand will make you sick. You cloud get close enough to €400 for all that, €330-340 at a minimum. A shop might give your €250-280 at best.

    Cheers for that CC.

Will keep it up on Adverts for another week or so alright.. then go down the Ebay route.

Found a post on here from January saying they'll offer €190 credit for an 80GB PS3.. but a US site I saw said they offer 20% less if you take cash (don't know how true that is).

+1 for avoiding gamestop. I went in there last week to trade in MW2 for Heavy Rain, and was offered €27:eek: I promptly said no thanks, was on my way out and someone that overheard offered me €40 for it. Happy days

They'll rot your teeth - theres a reason Wham/Damn/Fruit Salad and Blackjack Bars aren't as popular with adults.

I'll give you a can of Fanta and 3 Fat Frogs. Final offer.

    Phat PS3 (200/180 cash)

    - Fallout 3 (played once for 30 minutes) 5 euro
    - DJ Hero w/ turntable 30 euro
    - Assassins Creed (Platinum) 2.50
    - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (Platinum) 3
    - Batman: Arkham Asylum 4
    - LittleBigPlanet 8
    - Stranglehold 2.50
    - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 4
    - Buzz TV Quiz w/ 4 buzzers 10

    Thanks in advance.

For a cash trade in i would estimate 240-250 for a stock trade in maybe 260-270 and that is being very generous.

xtravision are usually the best but do a quick ring around. But if you are to sell it and then buy a blu ray player. You will only end up with around 100ish euro i cant see the point in trading it in really.

Well.. as I said, I may buy a Blu-ray player with it.. but maybe not right now!

The money I get is more towards the tax renewal, NCT test and insurance renewal on my car.
    - Fallout 3 (played once for 30 minutes) 5 euro
    - DJ Hero w/ turntable 30 euro
    - Assassins Creed (Platinum) 2.50

    - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 4
    - Buzz TV Quiz w/ 4 buzzers 10
Yikes.. at those prices, I'll sell seperately! :D

€10 for Buzz TV with 4 buzzers? There's a guy offering €25 on Adverts for one? And €4 for Batman: Arkham Asylum? I know it can be bought new for £15 - £20 online... but €4 for a barely-used copy. Surely not!

You'll get a very good idea of what they are selling for brand new online.

Batman is about 18 pound brand new online but of course, the GOTY editon was dated today (and will have all the dlc and will also have a 3D option) so you may want to get rid ASAP.

I really think you should consider selling separately. I know that selling in bulk is far handier but, I think you'll get a better price.

As a guide, maybe use noodler's link to find the cheapest price for the games online and then deduct 25-50% depending on how old the games are.

Yeah, that site and http://www.find-dvd.co.uk is a godsend as a Bargain Alerts mod! :D

Best prices I've found there for new versions of my games are:

    Fallout 3 = £14.31 - Amazon UK
    DJ Hero w/ turntable = £59.93 - Amazon UK
    Assassins Creed (Platinum) = £9.85 / £9.99 (ex P&P) - ShopTo / Amazon UK
    Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (Platinum) = £14.91 - Asda
    Batman: Arkham Asylum = £17.71 - Asda
    LittleBigPlanet = £15 (ex P&P) - Amazon
    Stranglehold = £9.73 (ex P&P) - TheHut
    Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 = £10.99 - CoolShop
Buzz TV Quiz w/ 4 buzzers = £42.89 - SimplyGames.com (doesn't seem to be available with buzzers in many stores)

    So £195.32 total new..!

Yeah I forgot, as BA mod you would undoubtedly know the site.

Well theres always the fact that you may be selling to be people who plain don't shop online (or don't know how cheap things are). You should give yourself some room to negotiate.

    Possibly alright!

But I'd like the sell the PS3 first before I sell any of my games off! :)

    See above! ;)

Plus Arkham Asylum is the one game on the Playstation that I put a good few hours into, and have to get past the Joker before I sell it! It's the principle! :D

I know the fealing im dreading my renewals next month why oh why did i tax and insure my car in the same month !!

They are heartless in those game stores  i got offered 49 cent for a 360 game, hence me building a swap site at the moment. I would defo try and sell it on adverts first its the best option i think and trade in at a last resort and defo shop around.

ebay may be an option on the games to sell them seperately.
