    Hello,

Had a look at a friends house in Cobh - he is picking up the following signals for the irish stations. What I would like to know is where is the signals coming from ? Is it a tv deflector ?

    RTE 1 - UHF channel 55 - circa 745 MHz
    RTE 2 - UHF channel 59 - circa 778 MHz
    TV3 - UHF channel 27 - circa 522 MHz
    TG4 - UHF channel 65 - circa 825 MHz

He is also picking up most of the BBC, ITV - but he has better picture quality from sat decoder. The Irish stations have poor reception.

He has a DTT mpeg 4 box - which I would like to use - Spur Hill is hidden behind hill (18km away) as is Dungarvan (46km). Just wondering also is anyone has been picking up DTT arround cobh area and which transmitter is best to go for ?

    Kiki

The analogue channels appear to be from two different transmitters - Ch. 27 (TV3) is Mullaghanish, while Chs. 55, 59 and 65 are from either Crosshaven (Cork) or Lauragh (Kerry).

The UK channels are probably from a South Coast TV deflector.

As he appears to be receiving TV3 from Mullaghanish has he tried to pick up DTT from there with the MPEG-4 box?
Is he using a proper Group A external aerial for Mullaghanish or Wideband if he is receiving two transmitters?
Would a masthead amplifier improve the signal?
Does he pick-up TG4 on Ch. 31 (Mullaghanish)?
