well folks.. what are we thinking?

All limerick final LIT v UL is my prediction... with UL to shade it ...

perhaps a cut at UL at 5/2 even...;)

nice solid team.. anyone know anything about WIT?

WIT are a solid enough college team. Backboned by a scattering of Waterford panelists. Power in goals, Fives at full back and Noel Connors. Hammersly from Tipp is the main attacking threat. Definately not as strong as the team that beat LIT a few years ago to win the Fitzgibbon that had the Reids from Kilkenny. WIT might beat UL but don't think they have enough scoring forwards to match LIT

NUIG have just beaten LIT 1-24 to 1-23 after extra-time. Meant to have been an absolute cracker.

Not that big of a shock really. I fancied NUIG might beat LIT if they could manage to hold Canning. They are very hard to beat in Dangan and they do have a pretty good team this year.

The bookies had NUIG at 3-1 to win today

it wasnt a cracker, the standard of hurling was average at best! canning and callanan for LIT were very poor.

God it would have been some scoring if they were both on their game. i suppose NUIG were always going to fight tooth and nail in their own tournament so to speak (its held in Galway this yr is it not?)

Those were crazy odds in a 2 horse race. NUIG at home and they've been hurling well all year. It was always going to be a tight one.

you wouldnt have won because the game was a draw after 60 minutes! and its a three horse race:)

Superb win for Nuig but talking to a few of their players lastnight and they seem to be drained from a tough 80 mins of hurling and are worried whether they will enough left in the tank when it gets to the last 15 mins today. Also fact that game is in Pearse stadium today and not in their backyard in Dangan would be a big negative to them

WIT 1-7 NUIG 0-4 athalf time. Hammersly with the goal just before half time, bad defending but well taken nonetheless. He is definately good enough for the Tipp panel. Amazed Sheedy doesnt rate him

Bit of a comeback for NUIG. Got a quick goal and point without reply. WIT 1-11 NUIG 1-7. Good goal from Caiman Morey i think. Left Power with no chance

sheedy was at the games yesterday so i cant imagine it will be too long before hammersly gets a call up to the tipp panel, he's a class act and has been for a while

NUIG with 1-4 without reply the last 10-15 minutes.

Nailbiting stuff now. NUIG claw back to deficit to the minimum

Great comeback,WIT were the better team in my view but they took it easy after they went 8 points up.they should still be good enough to win it in ET but would be great to see NUIG win it after a 30 year gap.
