I have two of the Volcanic Le Creuset Collection already (won one pot and grandmother gave me a present of her one) and would love the teapot in the collection - saw it today and its about the only thing I can afford at the mintue!!!

    They have to

    230335064?$product$
    Teapot A

    or
    le_creuset_classic_teapot_volcanic.jpg
    Teapot B

They both cost the same but my question is why is the difference in shape?? Possibly a stupid question but is one shape better for diffusing or anything?? Or is a personal choice?

    Thanks

They are both tea pots with the same capacity.
    See here and here.

I would go with option B, the classic shape. Reckon it does diffuse better in the classic oval shape. The less the teapot is tall and narrow, the less the leaves are sitting on top of each other. I feel you want a teapot where the leaves can spread out on the bottom. I also feel that when it comes to pouring the oval shape keeps more of the leaves back from the spout.

I could be wrong about the pouring thing. At any rate I prefer Teapot B on aesthetic grounds. Teapot A looks like a cookie jar going in cognito.
