Can anyone tell me if these are tax deductible just like tuition fees? We have two kids in college one costs 900 euro and the other costs 1500 euro which includes an IT fee (laptop) from the college.

    Thanks for any advice....

Thanks for your reply Mr Incognito but I am still a little confused with respect to the verbiage used.

I was wondering whether the Registration fees are deductible - ie the fees paid at the commencement of each college year in order to register, last year it was 900 euro, year before it was 800 euro I believe.

I think that tuition fees are the course fees paid by foreign students or postgraduate students not under the free fees CO system.

Sorry to be pedantic but I really don't understand the difference between the various fees- I'm sure that others don't understand either.

It is the registration fees that I was wondering about if those can be claimed back & how?

The other question is at registration if the college charges an IT fee of 500-600 euro for a required laptop which they supply - is that reclaimable & how?

    Thanks again

Regstration fees -No unfortunately. This is a fee for registration not tuition.

    Laptop is not deductible either.

    Welcome to Ireland.

It should be deductible imo, but it's not.
