Any idea on public opening times so I might be able to go in and tri (sic) it out before the Fingal Sprint Triathlon in May?

Are applications for the Fingal Sprint Triathlon closed? On the website it says entry opens in Feb http://www.fingalsprint.3dtri.com/ but I can't see anything there to enter?

They haven't opened yet. They were due to open in early February but updated it to say they're still ironing out a few more details before they open. They've said they'll 'announce' a date rather than just open it so I've made it my home page so every time I start browsing I can make sure I've not missed out! Have done it three out of the four years it's been on, love it!

Thanks, I'll keep me eye on it too so!

I see there's a 35min time limit of slow swimmers, I've just started learning to swim 4\5 weeks ago, so not sure if I'll be up to swimming 750m in 35min, but no harm entering just in case I'm ready!

I see it costs €14 to use the main pool at the NAC. That price is utterly extortionate and especially unjustified give the current economic climate.

I know the facilities are good at NAC but the prices are too high.

€14 at peak times if you're not a member. I remember being able to get in for €6 at certain offpeak times (€8 in the evenings) and membership at €350 a year is very cheap (subsidised by the taxpayer I believe). If you look at the Aquazone times and prices, I think those are the same as for the main swimming pool. They do deals with companies as well. I can get tickets for any time of the day through work for €6 or €295 a year membership.

€14 a swim? That's crazy! Its €7 at the 50m pool at UL (€2.20 if you're a UL student), and you get a sauna and steam room thrown in too if you want. €14? Bananas!

Are there any regular users of the NAC on here? I'm looking to go out once a week or so before work (7am - 8am), and am wondering if there are some mornings that more clubs train than others? I've been there mornings where I've had the place to myself (mostly in summer), and mornings where there seems to be 5/6 clubs training.
