    Hey,

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the followoing:

I qualified for the grant this year (1st year) but what happens in the following years - do I have to keep reapplying with financial details/proof of address etc etc for every year I'm in third level? - or is it only in the first year of application...?

    Thanks in advance

    J :D

    Hi Jay,
As far as I know the fallowing is true:
First year will always be the hardest but since you qualified for a grant already then you should be grand. After every year, you get a certificate saying that you passed the exams from whatever college your going to and then you re do the whole application process for the grant but with a lot less hassle. The bureaucratic minds of all the city councils and the downward way of the economy will also play an important role.

Hi JayC5, hope you dont mind me jumping in on your thread... i,ve searched all the usual sites for info people, and basically what i'm trying to find out is...The new 'relationship' (loosing the grant when in reciept of the BTEA, does this apply to existing recipients or only new applicants? It doesn't say on studentfinance or socialwelfare sites. Many Thanks
