    God i hate Airtricity!

Anyway a thread for the 2010 season which starts within days! Any ante-post thoughts? I like 13/10 about Bohs and 7/2 about Waterford in the two divisions myself. Not sure yet though.

Opening day i think Fingal might be worth a small bet at 15/2 against Bohs. I'm also thinking about the 4/5 about Derry beating Cork. Didn't Cork have like 2 players signed up a few days ago? Might be a worthwhile bet.

    Anyone else doing any bets?

Is that price not massive!!? I admit I don't know as much about the LOI as much as I should but I aim to put that right this year,in a gambling capacity and to give Bray some support!:pac:

    Premier Division

Bohs look even stronger than last season after all their wheeling and dealing. Always solid in defence with the addition of Mark Quigley and Cretaro they will be very dangerous on the counter attack.

Shamrock Rovers will be very solid with the addition of the the Dans from Cork. They were very relient on Twigg for goals last season. If he doesnt hit the same hights I think they could struggle to keep up with Bohs.

Bohs @ 13/10 are worthy favs.

I think the value could lie in the EW market. 1/5 1,2,3.

UCD are available at 100/1. Considering they finished in front of Fingal last season in the 1st division it seems too high in comparison to Fingal at 7's.

Sligo Rovers look to have a greater depth to their squad in comparison to last season. At 16/1 they would be my tip to break into the Top 3!

Don't usually bet in the first few weeks of the season, but Dundalk have to be worth a punt away to Bray this weekend. Were odds against but now a best priced 10/11 with the Irish books, 11/4 minus a goal.

Bray's squad was assembled with Division 1 in mind and they've lost 6 from 7 pre-season matches. They're only win came against Athlone, although all their defeats were against Premier opposition. Unless they pick up a couple of free agents they're inexperience is going to cost a lot of points early on in the season.

Dundalk have had an unbeaten preseason (beating Derry, Mons, Bray, Shels and drawing with Athlone), but they've yet to face a Premier side. The likes of Fenn, Faz and Melligan (excellent signing) should prove too strong for Bray however.

Fancy Limerick and Waterford in the first but eggs are in the one basket this week. 4pts on Dundalk @ 10/11, with 10 being a max comfortable bet.

Applehunter, UCD don't have a hope of getting near the top 3. 8th or 9th place for us.

Bray@7/4 (PP) to finish bottom is an unbelievable price, I've got a huge stake (20pts) on that.

Please make this the last mention of the "irish league", either League of Ireland or Airtricity Ireland, Irish League is up North.

Fair enough. But i do think they are overpriced in comparison to Fingal.

Fingal's problem was a lack of motivation rather than talent or quality of the players they had. That problem won't appear in the Premier Division I'd imagine. The loss of Ronan Finn alone to Fingal would be enough to put them much stronger than ourselves.

Dundalk, Pats, Derry, Longford and Waterford 17/1

Got lucky there with a last minute goal. PP have priced up next weekend's matches and I fancy Shels at 5/6 away to Wexford Youths.

The Youths really have gone backwards this year, with no depth to their squad whatsoever. Their performance in Waterford last weekend sounds pretty horrendous, and they always seem to struggle at home (winning more points away from home in each of their 3 seasons).

Highlights of Shels first game can be found here....didn't play too well but unlucky not to have beaten Monaghan (who seem to be improving year on year). They've a good enough record against Wexford without ever winning too comfortably. Fancy them to do the business this weekend however, and 5/6 looks about right.

Bet 2 of the season shall be 3 points on Shels at 5/6.

I won't backing Shels for a few weeks that's for sure. While we look tight and solid at the back, it's very hard to see where our goals will come from. Unders looks like a safe bet again, depending on the price of course.

Sligo Rovers away to Franchise are 5/2, looks a good bet.

I think Bohs are going to be doing their traditional tight grinding one goal wins this season, especially away from home. So I'll back them to beat the Drogs 1-0 @ 5/1 on a possibly rainy evening.

Waterford @ 2.38, home to Derry looks tasty.

UCD managed to put 3 past Drogs, I can see Bohs getting 2 or 3.

Sligo Rovers to beat Galway 4/5 with PP, crazy value, put €100 on it
