Need help getting NAT type 2

    Hey all,

I've had my ps3 a good while now, but I have never been able to properly play games online. I usually have serious lag issues or get disconnected from the severs.
I have NAT type 3, and i assume this is a big problem. Can anyone help me get NAT type 2?

Im using a broadband connection. The internet comes with the apartment so I have no idea who the provider is, i just plug into the port and connect.

    Any help is apreciated.
    Thanks

well if it comes to the apartment, you can be sure its encased in all manner of firewall protection etc... youll have to talk to IT caretaker of the building, i really doubt you can do anything from your end,

There could a whole host of problems. Is the broadband wireless or wired? i'd say the contention ratio is pretty bad(assuming all the tenants can use it)

I've had nat type 3 for ages and i couldn't under stand why i couldn't play multi-player , i'd be sitting there forever waiting to 'connect to server'.

My solution was from an Irish guy on youtube and after 5 mins got nat type 1:D

Though this only works with eircom!! But it couldn't hurt to try, there's a chance your provider is eircom(just remember to write down your old settings in case it doesn't work)

    Good Luck with it
