Flannery appeal fails according to RTE. No real surprise to be fair?

The fact that he admitted that he deserved a red card for the incident pretty much sealed his fate.

    RTE link

Of course it failed, what were they going to do, say it was OK?

While the behaviour wasn't on, he isn't the first and he won't be the last. Good that he held up his hand and admitted the wrongdoing, that's getting less common unfortunately. Bad behaviour in the incident, good behaviour with the guilt admittance.

His original guilty plea always meant the appeal was going to fail imo.

Appealing seems to be de rigour these days no matter how lenient the sentence.
