    Well lads,
Was only thinking other day of the amount of crap i buy all the time, for the love of the hobbie & of this what is actually any good.:o
(Besides guns & dogs & the obvious)

    Have decided between 3 items in the following order;

    > Hitch Dog Box - Handiest thing ever. 1 design flaw is it doesn't allow me to tow a trailer when bracket is on but a pure an utter god send!

    > Hat Cam - Great piece of kit! Memories forever & can share with you good people.

    > E Collar - Great piece of kit also. Made a dog of my pointer & springer is flying it.

Would love to hear your thoughts, might get some ideas?????

Honestly, our Lab Jasper. Fantastic dog and cant believe we went so long without a dedicated retriever.

Good clothes. The worst day will be all the better for being comfortable, and the best day will be discomfort-free as well. Good kit, that keeps you warm and dry, is essential.

A good dog for company would be good too. Going to take my retriever/cocker cross stalking next year for company. :)

    1. Swarovski el 8+32 binoculars, great pair of binoculars, would be lost with out them.

    2. Swazi clothing, bought a few of there fleeces and their thar anorak and have been very impressed by them especially the Thar anorak, nice and light jacket, very comfortable when stalking/crawling and completely waterproof, would highly recomend any Swazi clothing.

A comfortable sling :) Mant take that for granted. Some cut the shoulder or neck of ya or are always slippin off. Comfortable boots and a nice pair shooting gloves on those frosty nights, something I should have got long ago.

what are the best type of slings, or more important, what slings should be kept at arms length

Personally I use a Butler creek with little rubber grips on it to prevent it slippin off, dont like the thin leather ones. Sorry, but what you mean exactly by arms length?

it should be kept as far away from you as you can reach,, ie at arms lenght, (must be a tyrone saying),, what i ment by that was whitch slings should never be bought or even thought about as a option

Maybe it was getting my sako 308 rebarreled with a Lothar Walther barrel which ended the saga of the most unaccurate rifle I ever had.

I started stalking last year and had a cheap s**t set of binoculars. So at the beginning of this year i decided to buy a decent pair so i bought a pair of Steiner Ranger Pros 8x42. Dont go outside the door now without them. Great binos and didnt break the bank either.
In my opinion a good pair of binos is just as important as a good riflescope.

    1. Sako 75 6.5x55 with Docter ill 8x56.
    2. Steiner binoculars
    3. Federal fusion 140gr
    4. Buck vanguard knife
    5. Harris swivel 9-13 bipod

All i need now is a Land Rover Defender and a proper cold room set-up!!!:D

Day 1 in the bog all of the lads were having a good laugh at my hip waders: prostitute boots, f**k me boots, ... blah blah blah.

But then came the big drains. For some reason, I was the only one able to get across: quietly and easily.

After a few drains, there were about 10, 6ft wide and two feet deep. I found myself at the edge of the forestry and there was Bambi. I unbeknownst to Bambi.

However, after a few minutes of waiting, the boys are catching up. The fact of which has not gone unnoticed by Bambi.

I looked back at the boys, making noise midway back, and determined that as a matter or principle and necessity, I would take the shot.

One sonic boom later, plenty of meat for the winter, where are the boys? Still midway back.

Of couse, they ask why didn't you wait, to which I respond, well f**k me.:)
    Get yourself a pair.
