Anyone else find their iPhone freezes?

I have a jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 3Gs. I find it it freezing periodically pretty much everyday now. It might freeze for a few seconds when I click the unlock button, before I can swipe the screen. It might freeze for two or three seconds in the menu, for no apparent reason.

Most of the time I notice that when it comes out of the freeze, it drops the 3G signal. It comes back, but maybe that has something to do with it?

I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem, is it well known, or just me?

This is actually my second iPhone 3Gs, the first one had this problem aswell, but much worse, because it would freeze during a call and I would loose the connection. When I received this one from Applecare, it was fine for the first few weeks, no freezes, but they seem to be happening more and more lately.

I think its termed iPhone coma problem... Is your iPhone running on 3.1.2 or 3.1.3?

I remember reading on some other forum that the bug occurred on iPhones updated to 3.1.2 and was still around on the 3.1.3 release as well.

    Read here

    Quick excerpt
When I recently went into a local Apple Store, I was told by the front line geek that greeted me "it is because your phone is older - you should upgrade to a new 3G"... but to her chagrin, right behind me was a 3G customer saying he had the same problem. So we were escorted over to the "genius bar" and after a brief looks of disdain from the fella behind the counter, he rolled his eyes, leaned forward towards us and said "the official line is 'it is an un-repeatable error that can't be replicated on demand' so therefore, we don't acknowledge it as something to fix'.... but guys, I think your best bet is to roll your O/S back to the previous version if that worked better for you." He showed us both how to do it, and yes - no more coma mode... although when I doc my phone to my PC I now have to constantly deny the automatic request to upgrade back to the hell of 3.1.

Yep, I have exactly that problem . . and always have had regardless of what software version I was running. . I think it is just down to the fact that the processor cannot keep up with the software . . at least thats my non-tecchy view. I believe the problem doesnt exist in the 3GS which has a quicker processor.
