My husband and I are both pensioners. His pension is about 36000 pa and mine is about 26000pa. I might possibly earn another 2000 in a year . Is it better for me to be taxed as a single person or jointly with my spouse as at present? Also should I be paying any tax at the higher rate ( which seems to be the case when I do the few days work)

Generally uneless one spouse is earning over 60K there is no difference tbh.

As they are both pensions you are not entitled to the PAYE credit and the other 2K is not enough to trigger one.

No difference in your circumstances as stated.
