Quick Motor Tax Question

I'm filling in a form RF100A for a car I have just bought, it hasn't been taxed in about 18 months and was lying up.

I don't have the date of the last tax disk, I am a little unsure as to what to fill in on the form.

Do I just put in the dates for the required disk as I don't have the dates for the 'past owner period'.

Also, can this form be posted in, or do I need to do the archaic queuing at the tax office?

I bought a car privately 4 weeks back, and the tax was up on the same weekend. I just emailed the tax office last week and they said they'll send out a PIN number so I can do it online. Arrived a few days ago.

You only have to tax the car from the begining of the month that you became the registered owner. Whether it was taxed or not by the previous owner prior to when you became the new owner is not your concern.
