    Hi

I have just got my Sky+ Box (Ireland) and was able to add the ITV channels and Five (plus others) using the Services-Add Channels option. I presumed they would have an EPG but I couldn’t find it. I couldn’t record any of the channels either even when they were being transmitted live. Is this supposed to happen and is there any way round it. BTW I am using the Sky+ box in N.Ireland so if there is a way round this I would appreciate the help

    Thanks
    Eamon

    Hi

Thanks for the response - does this mean you can't even record as you are watching the show?

    Thanks

You can't record using the Sky+ box itself, but you could attach a DVD Recorder or a VCR if you were really desperate.

Since you are in NI, you could think about getting a Freeview+ box for recording the Fives and the ITVs.

They should be on your EPG if you have a Northern Ireland subscription. You should contact Sky.

There's another thread which shouldn't be too far down in this very Satellite forum, which shows how you can record Other Channels

    EDIT: Here it is

    Good luck

Seems to me the OP has an RoI subscription and has taken the box to NI to use. If thats the case he couldn't record Five, ITV etc.

Thanks for all the replies - yes Mayo Exile I am in the North but got the ROI subscription so that RTE wouldn't be blocked by Sky for footie matches etc - although it is a lot of hassle compared to pressing Record on the EPG I will give this method a try.

Can I just confirm one thing - the only way to record ITV/Five etc is to be actually there when it is live ie there is no way that i can record a programme for tomorrow night if I knew i was going to be out?

    Thanks all

Yep, that is correct and even worse it is not currently possible to use this method on five as it does not appear on the EPG that is loaded up without a card. Works fine on all the BBC and ITV channels.
