Thought I'd see how a bargain alerts thread played out.

Was in Cribbin's butchers today (in Manor Mills) and for 20e I got:

    4x Chicken Fillets
    4x Pork Chops
    2x Sirloin Steaks
    1x lb of mince
    1x Extra Large Chicken.

Serious amount of quality meat for 20e.

    Any others?

I don't know if it's an offer per sé, but all naan bread in Dunnes is currently €1.33. Even the garlic and coriander ones... nom.

Naan bread- not just for curries. For everything.

Centra beside Macari's always have really good deals on and most of their stuff has been sources from the North, so it's a little bit cheaper.
    This evening I saw:
    Ben and Jerrys 2.99
    All 330ml Lucozade 1 euro
2 large Milka bars for 2 euro
    2, 2 litre bottles of Coke/Sprite/Fanta for 3 euro
Old Del Paso dinner kits 3 euro
Chicago Town pizzas for 1.79 (the 2 small pizzas in a box)
There were more offers fruit and veg, meat and other stuff, I just can't rememer the rest!

Also, Spar behind the Newtown in have tea/coffee and THREE sausage rolls for 2 euro. I thought that was pretty awesome...

the butcher in manor mills is the only palce in maynooth I buy meat.

the quality is ****ing excellent, and if you buy the deals, it's cheaper then anywhere, even aldi's.

you can get about a weeks worth of food for one, with like, a tenner and unless your a total knob in the kitchen it;s usually stuff that's easy to cook.

There's a butcher up by tesco that do student deals too, I don't know if they're good coz I've never bought from them, but it wouldn't be fair not to mention them, I bet they're probibly along the same levels of soundness the guys in manor mills are. anyone bought stuff from them?

They have good deals on there, I find their meat very good and prefer to buy there than Manor Mills. Staff are helpful also. The student deal there (as far as I can remember is 3 pork chops, 3 chicken breasts, 4 chicken thighs, a half pound of mince beef and sausages for a tenner.

Sounds like you're feeding the fivethousand.

We cant do that communal feeding in my gaf. someone is always away somewhere so its a logistical nightmare.

Had a fry up with the housemate and mate this mornin'. Did the trick as they were hangin' and I was starvin'.

Butchers up opposite Tesco/near the post office have a sign saying 10 chicken fillets = €10 + 5 pork chops free!

It seems a bit too good to be true but that's 15 bits of meat(giggetty) for a tenner!

If anyone's looking for a dress for C+S ball, or similar, there's a Mrs. Quinns charity shop which has a good few formal gowns for sale at the moment. Not all of them are second hand, but those which are seem to be very reasonable (€7-10) and those which aren't are hardly going to cost a fortune either :).

You can find Mrs.Quinns tucked in off the roads opposite Bradys/the clock house.

In Sainsbury's, in England, they sell 2 toothbrushes for 10p O.O

(edit - but as that's in England it probably doesn't count...)
