So did anyone hit the liffey for the first day yesterday? I usually do but pressures of work forbade it (first time in 15 years I worked the 1st March)

I was out on the liffey over the weekend, full report on here:http://su.pr/2DwG0D
Regarding fishing the Ballymore Eustace area there is an active club in the area. You either have to be a member or purchace a day ticket which are available locally.

Thanks Wgsten, a couple of us went up on Sunday and yesterday. We had much the same day as you. Which wasnt helped by the two otters who seemed to think it was great fun to follow us no matter where we fished.
I was suprised by the changes in the river after the floods. Areas which held some great trout are now gone. As with yourself we noticed little or no fly life and only saw two fish rise. Hopefully the current warm spell will help the water temp.

I also seen some changes due to the flooding. I would have liked to see the otters as i had my camera with me, they are usually very elusive and as yet i never had a chance to get a photo of one.
