    Hi Folks,

Got up this morning to find that some little scumbags had carved scratches into the bonnet of my car (apparently they've been doing much worse in this area i've moved into recently...i shall be moving out again soon methinks)

Anyway just wondering if anyone can give me an idea how much its likely to cost to get her bonnet re-sprayed professionally?

There's three winding scratch marks not very deep but clear enough.

My car is a 98 Polo and yeah she's old but her paint work was perfect and i'd like to get it back that way.

    Thanks in advance
    DrF

There's a lad on here every now and then who does paint work on cars. Paint Doctor I think his tag is. Worth searching / PM'ing him maybe?

Too much for 98 Polo more than likely....

I'd be giving some scrap yards a call , some might have a bonnet to match the car's colour ..

    Cheaper option .(possibly)

To get it done properly can cost 150-225 ish.

One of the 'smart repair' people might do it for 100-150 on the side of a road.

Is it red by any chance? A newly sprayed bonnet would look very out of place on a '98 Polo.

Not wanting to offend but it's not an E type jag, correct colour bonnet from a scrapyard is the best option and will look a lot better than a newly painted bonnet.

I paid about 600 quid for a bonnet spray a couple of weeks ago after some piece of filth gave me a nice deep cut on the bonnet. I feel your pain!

I think I'd look for a scrapped one too in your case though.

I would have said €300-€400 for a mid size saloon. It all depends on what prep work needs to be done on it.
