Hi, I am a complete novice at astrophotography and need it explained to me like I am a 5 year old! I have a telescope (Sky-Watcher Matsukov auto-tracking) and a nikon d40x and I would like to try my hand at taking a few shots of the moon to begin with (nothing roo complicated) but I can't even get as far as setting myself up! I bought a Nikon T-Ring from Astronomy Ireland which was fine and I also bought a T-Adaptor but the 1st one was too big, so they kindly changed it for me and the 2nd one that I received in the post this morning is too small, so I have to try exchange it again. The thing is, although I know my telescope is as mentioned above, there is no model number on it anywhere - but the T-adaptor that was sent to me was for a Matsukov..so I am stuck. I will try see if the guy in Astronomy Ireland can help me a bit tomorrow, but in the mean time..is there anyone who would be prepared to help me get started or is there anywhere I can ring for advice?? Like I said...bear in mind that I am a complete novice!!
