    Hey Guys,

I have requested access to the Motor Tech forum, but in the mean time I will post here if you don't mind, as I am without my car and need to get it fixed quickly.

The CV joint has failed and I know that the best way to resolve this problem is to replace the entire driveshaft. What I want to know is, will a driveshaft from a 2001 (Irish) Micra fit my 1998 (Irish) Micra. I have heard that they might not be compatible.

I need to know so that I can buy the replacement part and get it into the car tomorrow evening.

Thanks a million if you know the answer :)

    HS.

I just spoke to someone and they said that the only difference would be if it was a Jap import. I hope it will be the correct part.

If the Cv joint has failed, how is the best solution to replace the driveshaft with a second hand one?

Why not replace the failed CV joint itself which should be available from your friendly local Motor factor for about 40 euro or so.

Because it takes about an hour less to do. And it's a lot less painful.

Do you know the answer to my orignal question?

    Thanks.
