SD Cards and Memory Sticks on Ebay available postage free from a Dublin based supplier. I bought a 2 Gig SD Card from Vidait for €4.76 delivered.
Very fast delivery. Paid sunday night and package delivered on Tuesday Morning.

Not to rain on your parade OP but like headphones, 90% of memory on ebay is dodgy. The last USB key I got from ebay certainly was, and was worse than useless as it deleted data.

Hell, it turns out that even stuff supplied direct from the manufacturer can be a knockoff - see http://gizmodo.com/5472859/even-kingston-knocks-off-kingston-microsd-cards. Gah!

Now, this seller may well be selling the real deal, but people do need to be aware of the risks.

I saw this guys listings yesterday, they're unbranded, and you can get kingston ones for maybe 50 cent more on hk sites.
Delivery is the difference though, 2 days v. 2 weeks.

when it comes to stuff like SD cards, I found proper brands last much longer and suffer no corruptions which I don't want on my holiday snaps...... for the sake of a few quid that I spend once a year. Thanks all the same OP

Cheap memory sticks are usually painfully slow at transferring data. High capacity ones are usually fake and may only have 2GBs storage but can be made appear as if they have more. With this stuff you really need to be careful not to get ripped off.

Great card.
Then again I bought it to replace an old 256MB card which there was absolutely nothing wrong with and I never overfilled so a bit pointless really.

No. You can get "Kingston" ones. They are most definetly counterfeit, and the ones advertised as 60GB have actual 1.8GB of non corrupt memory

If your camera takes SDHC, then Mymemory.co.uk has Kingston 4GB for £6.99 delivered.

I bought a few of for €6.22 each from Dunnes Stores.

I've never received a fake Kingston card and I've ordered more than twenty in the past 3 years. Lucky, right?
And 60GB is a dead giveaway, since they go 32, 64, then 128.

For playing mp3 files through a car stereo with an SD slot, does it make any difference whether you use SD or SDHC cards (the unit will only read up to 8GB), or whether the transfer speeds are class 2, class 6, etc.?

Since we're talking about cheap (rather than quality) cards...

More likely to be a problem for recording than playing as write speeds tend to be a bit slower than read. So for video recording or high megapixel photos you are likely to get dropped frames or corrupted photos with a slower card.
Playing quality from a slow card probably depends on the player too, ie if there is decent buffering.

For an MP3 player, class shouldn't matter (that's more for HD movies and RAW photos which need to read/write lots of data really quickly). SD/SDHC is the important part, for example I need to use a usb adaptor to get my 5 year old laptop to read SDHC cards.

**N.B. Not all devices support SDHC cards.

To ensure compatibility, look for the SDHC Logo on the product or packaging of your new camera or digital camcorder.

If your digital camera or camcorder displays a Class 6 logo then Integral recommend that you should use a Class 6 SDHC card in the device - Class 2 and Class 4 cards are compatible but your device will run at their slower speed.

Due to SDHC using the latest technology, any digital camera or other device purchased before 2006 will not be compatible with SDHC memory cards.
