hey I have a problem which people might have an idea how to go about solving. new to photography

whenever I take a photo its stored as say dsc 0001, I then copy all my files and delete them off the camera. I then go ahead and take a few more and they start over as dsc 0001. How do I name them sepereately automatically so that when I drag and drop to a file that they are not all named the same?

    thanks

Press MENU, go to the left and up or down to go the little pencil icon. You'll see CUSTOM SETTING MENU. Click down to 'd SHOOTING/DISPLAY' and click to the right. Then scroll down 'd4 FILE NUMBER SEQUENCE' and set this to ON. This will ensure the file numbers continue upwards instead of re-starting again at DSC_0001 each time... hope this helps!
