Definetely italy is very romantic & beauriful, also loads to see if you get bored of the beach.
Another suggestion is santorini ( a greek island). Amazing views & a big honeymoon place- i think more for americans. Check it out on tripadvisor. The place to stay is the caldera area, however its not cheap!!

Hi, we spent our honeymoon in Sorrento (including Venice and Rome). It is absolutely beautiful, and there are a lot of day trips - mount vesivius, pompeii, drive along amalfi coast, its breathtaking! And a daytrip to the expensive chic island of Capri, astounding views! But, if you are looking for a sandy beach i'm afraid its rocky. A lot of the hotels have balconies overlooking the sea, fantastic views. Certainly, Sorrento is very relaxing, not a lot of nightlife but has still a great buzz, we made many friends with the locals, they are so welcoming.

As mentioned, the Greek isles are also meant to be beautiful, although I haven't been myself.

If you want any more info, feel free to contact!

I would recommend the Greek Islands.

Corfu - Agios Gordios http://www.agios-gordios.net/ - supposed to be really lovely there - great beach, lots of good tavernas (not actually stayed there myself, but have been to Corfu before - Kassiopi - lovely resort but beach is pebbley. Agios Gordios is only 15 km from Corfu Town, which is beautiful to visit. Nice shops, and plenty of restaurants & tavernas - nice to do one evening. Flights from Dublin, through Panorama or Falcon Holidays depart Friday am.

Santorini - stunning island! The two main "beach" resorts are Kamari (black pebbles) and Perissa (black sand). If you are planning on a two week honeymoon I would suggest island hopping - 1 night in Fira (capital of Santorini) and then getting a ferry to Naxos for 7 nights. It's a two hour ferry ride. Naxos is lovely, with gorgeous sandy beaches. You could then get the ferry back to Santorini for 6 nights. Flights are either Dublin - Athens - Santorini, or Dublin - Gatwick - Santorini (cheaper option, and Easyjet fly there).

Skiathos is another one that is supposed to be fab. Again, flights either Dublin - Athens (www.aerlingus.com) - Skiathos (www.aegeanair.com), or else fly to Manchester or Birmingham, and get a direct flight (thompsons/thomas cook/first choice).

A good site for UK flight comparison is www.travelsupermarket.com

I've also only heard good reports about Croatia. You can fly from Dublin directly.

    Decisions, decisions :D

    thanks guys for your comments,
    we are still undecided....
i think its down to 2 options

    1) cruise around the greek islands

    2) flight hotel package to pahpos cyrus - pioneer hotel (falcon packaged holiday)

what do you think? or anybody had experiences with them? much appreciated.

I am leaning more towards the cruise as you go to see alot more places and can take more different photos for the album .. haha

anyone been onto this cruise??nice ? ok?

    Hi RubyK,
    interested in Santorini,
wondering how did you go there?
was it independently? or packaged holiday? if so , where did you book it?
    i hear santorini is expensive?
    thanks

Pafos is really nice. The Pioneer beach is nice - if its a honeymoon, why don't you look at the Almyra hotel in Paphos or, the Riu Cypria Beach which is right next to the Pioneer (same group) but is adults only.

The nicest hotel in Paphos in my opinion is the Elysium Beach Hotel, good beach. See www.elysium.com.cy

It is stunning and the other half will love you for it!

If falcon can't get it for you try concorde travel they have it.
