Scrappage Query

    Hi guys,

My old 00' punto is on it's last legs, same old punto story, head gasket...again. Looks like it will cost a bit to fix but it's only a matter of time before I've to shell out again.

Here's the question, I bought the punto off my mam over 4 years ago, now my dad actual never officially signed it over to me - sheer laziness! it was March of last year when he finally did, so I am officially an owner 12 months.

I read from other threads that the scrappage deal states you must own the car for 18+ months so how am I fixed here? officially I have owned it for 12 months, but unofficially I have it over 4 years, and the insurance has always been in my name for those 4 years, I also got a car loan at the time of purchase. Am I confined to waiting another 6 months or is there another way to prove my ownership?

    Thanks a lot.

I think you do have to wait the 6 months. There doesn't seem to be any exception to the rule.
