    Hi folks,

Had misfortune of going through a flood around xmas which meant a new engine. Thankfully covered under insurance but was wondering do I need to update my vehicle registration cert to include new engine number? Garage (BMW main dealer) being a bit hesitant on giving out documentation saying that they dealt with insurance company on the matter.

Also kind of a cheeky question- Car is a 2007 reg with hefty road tax can I now ask for it to be taxed at CO2 rate due to a span new engine in there (saving about 250 euro per year?)

As always any help much appreciated

CO2 rate only applied to post 2008 cars. end of story :)

You need to fill out a change of particulars form RF111 and get the reg cert amended.
You'll need to get the garage to stamp the form as well to confirm engine number and capacity.
