    Hi,

I would appreciate some help here,

I am a FTB and am currently looking at purchasing a house that is 2 1/2 years old, The house is Subject to the Rural Renewal Scheme,

Can I claim this Relief on this house for the remaining time of 7 1/2 years or am I not eligible because of the fact that the current owners are claiming it?

I cannot get a straight answer from anyone,

    Thanks

    Sisu;)

Best person to talk to would be a solicitor or accountant who has dealt with the scheme. Also check with the revenue commissioners if they have any guidance leaflets. www.revenue.ie

Be wary of paying too much for a property based on its tax benefits - you might not be paying tax the way the economy is.
