How does Toutless work?

If you bought your tickets online, and dont physically have them in your possession, what is the protocol for selling them?

Do you wait until you receive them before you can get payment for them? Which could be as close as 7 days before the event.

And if so, what if you make an agreement with one person to sell to them, turning others away as a result, and when it comes to paying you in a few months time, the buyer has found better tickets and leaves you high and dry?

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section, but the Toutless sticky is closed.

    Thanks

Why not ask on the toutless site?

I'd make an educated guess that you need to have the tickets in your possesion before selling them. Ticketmaster and tickets.ie usually post tickets out quite quickly, so there should be no problem. Are you waiting a while on your tickets?

Why didn't you just post up "have you ever heard of google" crap...

Boards and boardsie promotes the use of toutless so it is a valid place to ask the question and I would have felt a mod would refrain from crap replies, then again its one way to boost your post count...

OP, I don't really know what happens on toutless but anytime I have sold tickets there is an element of trust and waiting and seeing...

No, just have had a few people contact me about tickets and want to know how to proceed. Im hoping ticketmaster wont take too long to post them out, but as they do say on their site it could be 7-10 days before the event, im preparing for all eventualities.
    Cheers

Our disclaimer specifically mentions we can't verify that a ticket exists so it is the buyer and seller who agrees how to proceed with the deal after they've found each other on the site.

I'd recommend the least abusable scenario which is to have the tickets and money brought to an agreed safe/monitored location with ID and contact info and to take note of this but we can not verify anyone is doing this so it is a best practice suggestion rather than a rule.

Thaed isn't a mod of this board and their post was as useful and much less abrasive than yours. Keep your snotty manner and little jibes to yourself.
