Upgrading windows and warranty

My laptop is falling apart under my fingers and causing me endless grief. It's still within it's warranty so was thinking of bringing it to get fixed.

Problem is that I installed Windows 7 in an attempt to fix some of the problems present on the system, the warranty section claims that
"5 If the Notebook / Eee PC is purchased with a recovery CD (depending on territory) and a driver CD, ASUS will guarantee that the OS (operating system) in the recovery CD is able to install successfully onto that Notebook / Eee PC with all hardware functioning. However, the warranty will be void if the user attempts to install other third-party software onto the Notebook / Eee PC. Please note that the bundled recovery CD is covered by copyright and uses the same ID as your Notebook / Eee PC. As a result, if it is lost, damaged or destroyed by any means, ASUS will be unable to replace it with a new piece or sell you a new one."

Does this mean I'll need to reinstall Vista before I can ahnd it over? Would cause me a few problems.
    Thanks.
