just a headsup if anyone is looking for a cheap hybrid/rescue club to try out LIDL have them on sale today for 22:99 in both 21deg and 24deg loft.

I know most will say piles of **** at that price but may be of interest to some people.

They also have bags of 300 and 400 tees for around 8 euro.. should last a week or two! also golf shoes and balls.

Also see that JJB are selling their volkey wedges for about €85 which beats my local shop's €125.

Are they only selling right handed hybrids?

Are they only selling right handed hybrids?

I only noticed right handed ones when I was there. That said there could have been some but I would imagine they only get the right handed variety in stock.

I got one of them and brought it to the driving range last night and practised with it for a while hitting from the mat. It is exceptionally forgiving which is obviously the advantage of it over the 3 and 4 iron. Happy with it for the price and look forward to giving it a proper test out on the course soon.

Yea it was a bad attempt at it alright but I couldnt resist. :D

Glad to hear the OP is getting on well with the one he bought. Very good value.

I see Cleveland are selling their 2009 launcher Hybrid in McGuirks for €59. Very good price for a company as highly regarded as them. Might pick one up myself.

Thanks for that ThunderCat. Picked one up this afternoon in McGuirks in Leopardstown & took it up to the club for a few holes. Very pleased- easy to hit straight & good out of rough. Got a no. 1 - 15.5 degree with stiff shaft. I'm not a big hitter but happy with the c 190 yards it went today.
    Good value at €59.95 , 2010 version is €139.

15.5 is the equivalent to what iron really?

Yes Conno more like a 1 iron, but closer to a 3 or 5 wood, because not all club lofts are standard it's harder to directly compare hybrids and woods with irons.

I'd say more like a replacement for a wood. The 3 wood I've now thrown in the shed is 16 degrees
