I am not sure what to do in this situation, I have been off work with a chest infection and have the cert until today (so back to work tomorrow) I am not feeling that much better, but I am worried that if I contact the doctor that work will not be happy with me and I am feeling in a right muddle :(

I am thinking of just going back to work because I don't want them to be angry with me

If you're sick, you're sick. Whether your employer is happy about it or not isn't the issue. If you have a note from your doctor then there shouldn't be a problem.

I am just concerned because I was off Monday & Tuesday last week on holidays (which was previously arranged), I hadn't the money for the doctor at the time and I went to the doctor on Thursday, I just don't want them to get angry with me and accuse me of taking the piss or something.

I was considering ringing the doctor and seeing what the doctor says.

I once went back to work prematurely while I was still very sick with a serious virus, because it was a new job and I was worried what they might think. It was a huge mistake, as I became sicker and sicker, and it took me 16 weeks in total to recover. And I ended up leaving the job due to ill-health!

    1. Go back to the doctor.
    2. Get another sick note.
    3. Recover fully.
    4. Return to work.
    5. Happily ever after.

Take it from me, if you're sick stay at home get a cert and don't feel bad about it.

I did not take 1 sick day in 2008, I have often gone in to work when i've been certified to be off.

During the bad spell of snowy weather my car key broke due to my lock been froze and I couldn't make it to work, not for lack of trying for 2 days. I was made take 1 as a days holidays though walking around freezing my ass of going from garage to locksmith trying to get it sorted isn't exactly a holiday. This was the thanks I got for going in when I was sick and barely missing days.

It will be the last time i'll do it. Your health is your wealth.
