Just looking around and saw a few with low mileage and saw a Golf 08 with 20,000 km on it and the usual one lady owner

What should the average be ballpark figure for a low user

I did 6500 miles last year. That's well below average I'd imagine.

How long is a piece of string ? My Dad has a 99 car from new with 30K miles on it. I consider 10,000 / 15,000 per annum average miles.

Tend to go on about 12k miles as average. Looks low enough to me at 20k km. I'd be more concerned about the lady owner bit:pac:

When I had the company car I did 30+k miles in it and under 2k miles in my own car. Wasn't really worth having it cetp for the rare occasion I needed to carry more than 1 passenger.

People put too much emphasis on what the odometer reads in this country, this is not an accurate indication of how a car was driven/used. A car with 23000 miles on the clock could have the crap driven out of it on back roads and never had a service whereas a similar car with twice the mileage was driven on motorways and service regularly.

I know which one I would buy.

average mileage is 12-15k per year. As previously mentioned, mileage isnt really THAT important unless you will be looking to resell. Get the car thoroughly checked by a qualified mechanic, make sure theres no outstanding finance, and youll be grand
