yeah, heard them when I was over there, when "black fingernails...." was released. It's not a bad album, a bit INXS in places, but some decent songs on it, like "london bombs" and "new york". I was looking at their site a few months back and they seemed to have quite a few gigs in Germany...

"Big in Germany!". That would do me any day....

Though I wouldn't say Australia is producing rubbish music these days. Ever hear the "dissociatives", "sleepy jackson" , some of the silverchair stuff is great, john butler trio, the waifs, empire of the sun (guy from the sleepy jackson), temper trap, jeff lang (amazing!) etc etc. It's not all Airbourne and AC DC.....

I cannot understand how Airbourne are popular. They are like a sh*t version of the darkness, but without the hooks and the darkness are pretty sh*t....

    temper trap.

I saw the Temper Trap last November I think and they were mediocre at best. Nothing they played enticed me to check out more of their music in any way.

One of my favourite bands. They are Perth boys and are absolutely massive over here.

Saw them at the Big Day Out in 2007 and then again this year and they're superb live. The back catalogue is really excellent, and 'Black Fingernails, Red Wine' is a 10 out of 10 album.

If you can get to The Academy to see them then do. You won't be disappointed.

This was their first big hit back in the day -

Will be seeing them at The Academy. Great Band, saw them in Dublin last time they were here.

Black Fingernails, Red Wine is a great album (and yes I also put 'london bombs' up there with some of their best songs).

Just got there latest album 'Inshalla' a week ago and am listening to it furiously in preparation for the Dublin gig.
