    Ok

Need a lambda sensor for the glanza and is avail from micksgarage.ie for 149.00 euro plus 8.00 quid postage .

Same part on E-bay is GBP58.00 plus 19.00 postage so around 86.00 euro but have been told that some motor replacement parts on e-bay are fakes and not the real mccoy ..

Anyone any experience of buying parts on e-bay

Check out the seller and then make your mind up. Make sure you have full PayPal protection too.

Aftermarket o2 sensors are brand name or not. Is it a brand name?

people selling at €149 will tell you ebay parts are fake no doubt...

check out the feedback rating, there are far more genuine traders on ebay than crooks

If you buy through pay pal and the product is muck ebay / paypal will always side with the buyer. A seller with loads of +ive feedback and no or very little -ive feedback is 99% of the time a sound option.

Anecdotal I know, but everything motor related I have bought so far off ebay has been perfect (or as per description for secondhand). Use basic cop on when buying though as much too cheap usually means something not right with it or incorrect part.

As above I brought 2 genuine Exeddy clutches for me and a mate and these are genuine and way more than half the price over here.I now use ebay for nearly all parts i buy as they are a good bit cheaper and any people selling parts as traders are usually genuine businesses and will offer 30day money back guarentee also. But also heed mikes advice use a bit of cop on also goes a long way ;) Happy Hunting

I use it for car parts too. I've bought brake discs and pads, spark plugs, bulbs etc. Never a problem, and I only use long established shops.

Thats like saying that everything sold in the Irish Times classifieds is a Fake. eBay is a marketplace, stuff may or may not be fake/good/bad thats sold there.

As others posted, check out the sellers ratings and the listing. I will say however that Ive tried generic O2 Sensors from GSF (a retail motor store) that didnt work well at all, "Bosch replacement sensors" (multi-car use, genuine Bosch) from an eBay seller that did work quite well but neither truly replaced the very specific one in the car from manufacture. In the end I bought 2 original parts ($$) from BMW.

I got 6 new ignition coils for my car for the same price as 2 of the cheapest in Ireland. They arrived two days after ordering and worked (and still work) fine.

As with everything on Ebay history counts for everything. All Irish traders will tell you Ebay is full of fakes because if they didn't who would buy off the extortionate Irish Motor Factors

Yep, got loads of things on ebay. Never a bother.

    The most important thing is:
Read carefully to see if it's a generic. I won't buy generic MAFs/sensors/etc as I've run into trouble with them before.

For example, my car uses a Bosch MAF but pierburgh have a replacement that works perfectly. There are loads of generic MAFS on ebay that list the pierburgh part number but are no name products that don't work well at all(and I have tried).

    €174 for a 1.3 Starlet lambda sensor!

The ebay one is less than half that price.
