Now that you mention it! I spent last Paddys day in Buenos Aires. It is huge there. Some streets even get closed off. The Argies get full into the spirit of things and any type of green merchandise will be available. Hostels will send you in the right direction and there is a parade as well. Pubs will be wedged but be careful I (stupidly) paid €12 for a pint and a glass of Guinness! All the locals get there drink in the supermarkets and drink on the streets. It seems to be ok there. The only thing is there was so much beer sold the supermarkets only had warm beer. Get in early!! The Irish pubs also have cover charges on the day, which is not surprising.

We went down at around one that day all ready to party. There wasn't a sinner around. We had a stew in one of the Irish bars and went back to wait in the hostel until the party started. At 6pm when the Argentineans finished work the streets were heaving. The dont need much of an excuse to party. Dont worry about finding the party as it will find you!! There is and Irish hostel in BA as well where the party goes on all day and night. I cant remember the name though.
