Not something I'm considering myself I must state!

Passed an Irish re-registered Chrysler Town & Country on the M1, 2005 reg, LHD, clearly a US import. It had the US style indicators, where the standard rear light flashes.

Are these legal here? And probably more importantly for a 2005, are they NCTable? I didn't get to see if there was an NCT on the screen as I was driving at the time. Seeing as people get tortured over indicators not being orange enough I'd have thought it wouldn't be allowed.

Not sure myself. But a few years ago, a guy had imported a strech limo car (he was from US and brought it with him). He had to get amber indicators attached to the car, he said to make it road legal here.

So, I'd reckon, unless laws changed in the past 4 or 5 years, then your standard tail lights blinking are a no-no.

Was it a white one on Cork plates? There is one that I see regularly here in Firhouse that fits that description.

Ironically Mary Coughlan's boyfriend's much-loved DAA have pick-up trucks going around the airport which have illegal flashing red indictors for traffic enforcement. I believe these are US imports and are petrol all V8s.
