Wireless Registration On Campus

I feel a little stupid asking this at this stage of the year, but can anybody tell me what the story is with regard to registering your laptop for internet access in UCC?

As in, will I just be able to take my laptop into the Boole Basement and have it set up? I read that you have to update certain elements of your laptop, but is that all you have to do beforehand?

You must first register your laptop here:

And that page gives you the other details about what you must do.

Thanks for the link, doyler. But it says you can only register from the main campus....how am I meant to do that if I'm not connected? Am I supposed to do it from one of the Campus Computers?

You register your details on the link above and then you must go down to the helpdesk in the computer centre and they will do something with your laptop and then it shoudl work away. Make sure to egister online first as that will be the first thing they ask you so you might aswell do it before you go in.

There are actually two computers down in the computer centre in the Boole to do the computer registrations - saw a sign by two of the standing computers in the corner of the room
