It's my mam's birthday in July and she has always wanted to go to Jersey so I want to bring her there for a few days.

I don't really know much about the place so would appreciate any tips on where to stay/eat, what to do etc :D

I've had a quick look at flights and Aer Lingus only fly every second or third day, is there an airline that flies more frequently?

    Thanks guys :)

Really a fantastic place for a short trip. Been there many times but i have family there and stay with them so unsure about hotels and other accomodation. Heading over again for the easter weekend and really looking forward to it.

Aer lingus fly every tuesday and thursday as far as i know. The good thing is that they fly direct. From my expierence if you want to fly other days you have to use Flybe, Bmi Baby but they fly from Belfast with a connection in England, bit of a pain with all the waiting around.

Jersey itself is full of interesting things to do and see. Personally i like the zoo http://www.durrell.org/ they are a conservation type zoo so most of the animals are endangered. Also the war tunnels http://www.jerseywartunnels.com/ are very interesting and i believe they have revamped it this year. Other times of year than july are better and i would imagine if you could to think about going in August for the battle of the flowers http://www.battleofflowers.com/. Even if you don't have an interest in flowers the festival itself has plenty going on and is an excellent expierence.

To be honest i haven't eat in many restaurants but i do know there is no shortage of places to eat and drink. St Brelades bay has a fantastice beach http://www.thisisjersey.com/lifestyle/beaches/st-brelades-bay/ and there is numerous cafes, restaurants and pubs along the coast where you can wile away the day in peace.

Like i said i have been there a good few times and if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

Wow! Thanks a million for all of that, much appreciated :D

We're hoping to go in August and I know she'd love anything to do with flowers so that's a must! I just want it to be a nice, peaceful trip for her because she does so much for us all. So walks along the beach, nice food etc would suit her perfectly!

I've had a look at some of the websites, it looks like a beautiful place! I'm excited myself now :D My parents live in Cavan so to fly from Belfast wouldn't be a problem, same distance from Dublin really so I'll look into that as well!

Hope you have a fabulous time on your trip at Easter :)

Hi 50euro. You seem very knowledgeable about Jersey. My work commitments are taking me to Jersey. My stay revolves around staying on the Island for 11days and then returning home for another 10No days before returning back to Jersey. Basically I need to be in Jersey on the Monday morning, so I take it I will fly out on the Sunday. I stay on the Island for 11 days and return either Thursday week. In dates for instance, I fly out say on the Sunday 11th April and return Thursday/Friday 22/23 April. This will be repeated infinitum. Dublin suits me best. Any tips on the cheapest/direct route to Jersey which would suit.

    Hi,
    I missed this.

I go to Jersey frequently on Business .

Aer Lingus fly in the summer ( April to Oct ) last year it was Tues / Thur / Sat

Otherwise it's Fly BE via Southampton , or Ryanair / Aeir Lingus to LGW and BA/Fly BE from there but that works out expensive

Eating on the Island is fantastic , I can recommend a few place if you want.

I have not really been there as a tourist , but I have managed to visit the war tunnels which is well worth a trip

Remember to buy your duty free , lats trip , 2L of good ( top brand ) Gin was 20 quid , or 16 for lesser brands ( such as Gordan's )

    I love the place .

    Thanks Davidth88:D.
Sounds like a nice place. Since I am staying on each trip for a week &1/2, I should get time to sample the Islands delights.

You might advice me on names of local eateries which you would recommend.
