There's a rotten smell coming from the back of my whirlpool fridge freeze. It almost smells exactly like crap, not nice at all. I've checked everything and there doesnt seem to be any leaks or things stuck in behind anything. Am I missing something or is it just time to buy a new one?

is there floorboards or a cavity wall in behind? Dead Rat or mice underneath floorboards or behind wall?

? is it self de-frosting.....If so the cup that collects the water and allows it to evaporate in it's own sweet time is probably not drying out as fast as it should. I have had this happen, and it is fairly gross:mad:

Concrete floor under it but the wall is a cavity wall. It seems to be coming from the frige itself though. Maybe there's a critter stuck in the gunnellls undeneath the fridge, I must go and have a second look.

Some fridges have a little plastic "box" on the back that fills up with condensed water that should evaporate. If it doesn't or gets blocked it could become a bit of a problem and need to be cleaned out.

    /edit/ must type faster
