I couldn't keep my eyes of the robe on the door behind. What does that say? untidy set? set that doesn't work?
that's what happened to me. beyond that i didn't get the point.

Hi thank you for your comments. We appreciate all feedback. The robe was left in to give a natural sense. It's for an online web series that we will be posting in the coming weeks. This is a promo for it, to give a taste. It's about a teenage daughter v-logging about her life/ annoying mother etc...

I would remove it, it is very distracting. Also the non-uniform lighting on the right hand side is distracting.

Just because it is a video log doesn't mean you shouldn't follow the basic rules of framing lighting and set. :)

You should reposition your daughter with a neutral background, if you want any detail they should be on the high left or right of her (ie a picture in the background). Also zoom in a bit. Foreground details such as the bed are even more distracting than background if the presenter is just another object in the scene. You need to zoom in to shift focus onto your daughter only.

Have a look at these guys

Instead of doing this as a v blog we are thinking of doing as an ordinary online soap... With some v logging but not all? Any suggestions? Thank you

A lot of hard work. Some good ideas.

Girl really needed some light on her face imo. Light is probably your biggest tech issue.
The script is good, nothing I can relate to as a knuckle dragging ape but I like the continuity between the two dialogs.

All in all it's very creative and I'm glad your working at it.

Hi bosshogg thanks for the feedback appreciate your comments. I know what you mean nadine was really annoyed about that. We were going for 'contrast' but I think you're right it is an issue. What do u think of doing split screen might be visually more stimulating?

I think if it's in your head you should try it, then if you don't like it you can chuck it out for this clip. You'll gain the experience and down the line you'll have a better feel for when to use it.

What about some clips to hands etc? Say when she's opening the envelope you could have beat there or when mam holds up the card.

Thank you for your feedback- we might try cut aways and see what they're like?
