Ok so I said I'd put this here so I don't get pure guess responses.

Basically i was doing a bit of wiring work at some stage on the car (yes i am a dufus) and managed to blow something for the pop-up lights......so what are the possible things it could be?

Would I be right in saying its going to be one of the relays, theres two separate fuse/relay boxes.

The car is a nissan 180sx.

The relays really are a pain in the arse to get my hands on too, nissan wanted 72.50. :pac:

Don't mean to state the obvious, but have you checked all the fuses?

What kind of wiring were you doing?

I have indeed, first port of call ;) A custom wiring job called a lazy eyes conversion. Makes the height of the headlights adjustable.

I got some relays over from the UK for the "H/L ret cont" relay which I was sure it was that I had fookered but no luck. Just trying to delve into it a bit further before i bring it to the sparks :)

Was there a lot of cutting and connecting involved in what you did? Could you go back to the way they are and see if they are working?

Are they stuck up or down or are they sitting half way now?

Stuck fully up (that's what she said). If for some odd reason I ever need them down there is manual winders on each unit

Is it possible that you mixed up a permanent and switched live?

Can you put them down manually? If so do they pop straight up again?

You'll have to stop answering questions as i'm typing them!

Anythings possible when it comes to me and electrics but Im 110% sure everything is back as it was.

No, if I manually wind them down they don't pop up, id have to wind them back up.

Edit for acknowledgement of sarcasm :D:D

Can you get a hold of a multimeter to see if you're getting power to the motors?

Id say so, if not I'm just going to drop it into the autoelectrician and leave him at it

Well if you get a multimeter and you're getting power to the motors at least you'll be able to rule out fuses/relays etc.

I had a problem with my car and when I pulled the fuse it looked fine, couldn't find the fault so I just replaced the fuse anyway out of sheer frustration and it worked, the fuse had a hairline crack in it so don't judge the fuse(s) on sight alone
