Problem with E160 modem

    I have a 3 E160 modem which had been working perfectly for six months. Then I was messing around and uninstalled Mobile Partner. A few days later I tried to reinstall it and although Mobile Partner installed it won't connect to the internet. It gives an error message "port already in use" which doesn't make sense. It gives this error message for all USB ports. More worryingly when the dongle is attached the computer will not shut down, it freezes on the shut down screen. Aso it will not start up with the dongle attached. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it a number of times with no luck. I'm thinking there might be some compatibility problems with the drivers. I have Norton 360 installed, but Mobile Partner had worked fine for six months. When I initially tried to re-install I forgot to disable the firewall, so this may have caused problems. My OS is WIndows Vista 32bit.

    I contacted Carphone Warehouse and 3 but they were no help. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.
