Depo Injection Help...

    Hi everyone,
    i ope im writing this in the correct place but i need help im 23 and a few weeks ago i decided to go back on the depo injection was on it a few years ago and found it fantastic as i have a head like a sieve but came of it for a break as advised from my doc and went on the pill since then iv had a baby she;s 16mts and iv been on the pill since having her but decided to go back to the depo coz i kept forgetting the pill and since i have got the jab i have become unbearable to be around i am so moody,short fused and peed off the whole time for no reason and i seem to be hungry all the time...im wondering is there anything i can do/eat/take to help this anything at all would help as its causing huge problems in my relationship and i know its me...

    I'm sorry to say it but there's nothing you can do until the 3 months are up and it's out of your system, then I'd advise you to come off it and opt for another alternative to the pill if it really doesn't suit you. The reason being that I was on depo for 4years and in that time I put on about 2 stone, even though my diet/exercise regime hadn't changed. When I came off it my periods were irregular for nearly a year - I could go months without anything.

    If it's affecting your mental wellbeing then that's just as bad as the physical side affects stated above, I really do think you're better opting for something else. I was like you, head like a sieve, but it's really not worth it; you can easily train yourself to remember to take a pill a day if needs be, especially when it's going to stop an unwanted pregnancy.

    I'm only talking from personal experience though, what you really need to do is get proper medical advise from your doctor.
