    Two quick questions..

    1) I had to replace the battery in my car key and since doing so I can't open the car from using the button. Does it cost much to re program the key? Assume main dealer only?

    2) Somehow my cup Holder is jammed and I can't see to open it.. Considering asking the garrage to do their bit on it but them being the main dealer, prob cost a fair few. Any ideas?

Its the newer 03 Avensis. Thanks.

Is the battery definitely working? The car shouldn't forget they key/fob.

Not sure about Toyota by re-programming a fob to the central locking is usually a simple job that can be done at home.

Yeah it lights up when I press the button (the key) but nothing happens to the car. How would one fix it at home?

Found this for programming an avensis 03 onwards. Might work on yours.
Driver's door open and key removed from ignition switch.

Insert key into ignition switch, then remove it.

    Within 5 seconds:
Insert key into ignition switch, then remove it.

    Within 40 seconds:
Close and open driver's door twice.
Insert key into ignition switch, then remove it.

    Within 40 seconds:
Close and open driver's door twice.

    Insert key into ignition switch.

    Close driver's door.

Switch ignition ON and OFF once to program a new key code whilst retaining the original codes or twice to program a new
key code whilst erasing the original codes.

    Remove key.

System should now lock and unlock vehicle, once or twice depending which mode has been selected.

Carry out the following button procedure within 40 seconds:
Press key lock or unlock button once.

Within 3 seconds: Press same key lock or unlock button once.
System should now lock and unlock vehicle.

NOTE: If system locks and unlocks vehicle twice, programming procedure has not been completed. Repeat button
    procedure.

If required repeat button procedure to program remaining keys.
NOTE: To exit programming mode: Open driver's door.
NOTE: A maximum of 4 keys can be programmed.

A quick google threw this up: Did some surfing, there seem to be a few different code sequences. This one worked for me
    Mike

    Copied from another site..

    1. Driver door open and unlocked. Key out of the ignition
    2. Insert the key and remove 2 times in 5 sec.
    3. Close and open driver door 2 times in 40 sec.
    4. Insert the key and remove it again from ignition.
    5. Close and open driver door 2 times in 40 sec.
    6. Insert the key in ignition,
    7. Close the door,
    8. Turn to on and back to lock in 1 second intervals. 1 time for add, 2 times for rewrite, 3 for confirmation 5 for prohibition. (yes, there is no ?4?)
    9. Remove the key
    10. Power lock will cycle to confirm
    11. For add or rewrite mode within 40 sec of the confirmation,
    A. press ?lock? and ?unlock? buttons of the FOB at the same time between 1 and 1.5 seconds.
    B. within 3 sec press ?Lock? button for more than 1 sec and release.
    C. If it?s correct, the power door lock will cycle once. If it?s wrong the door lock will cycle twice.

Re the cupholder, it often happens that sugary coffee gets spilt on then and they then get stuck shut. Is it impossible to work it open? If so, maybe have a quick google for solutions.;)
