Spring with sport in Polish CANAL+ will be very intense. The station launches test service CANAL+ Sport 3 which gives subscribers a chance to see even more live sports. There's also a change in the foreign football leagues magazines. In the spring, CANAL+ Sport viewers will be able to se live football, basketball, speedway, boxing, rugby and horse-riding.

In March, sports offer of CAN/AL+ will be enriched by test service CANAL+ Sport 3. It will be aired in every weekend during football season. There are two broadcasts planned on Saturdays and Sundays. In the case of three sporting events taking place at the same time viewers can set their TV to CAN/AL+ Sport, CAN/AL+ Sport 2 or CAN/AL+ Sport 3 and they decide what they want to watch live.

    Premiership+ – every Saturday at 22:00

    Ligue1+ - every Sunday at 11:30
La Liga - every Monday at 21:00
    Ligue 1 – every Monday at 22:00
Premiership – every Tuesday at 18:15
    Serie A – every Tuesday at 19:15

This could be great news for EPL as Cyfra dont show EPL when it clashes with Polish league football!

I'm considering getting the HD pack with Sports & Movies when my Digitalb sub is up in June - With a bit of luck they have the original audio on the sports next season & more premierleague is Live on the channels....

That would have me on board immediately - picture on sd is fantastic

For what i can see the sport 3 channel will be just broadcast during the weekends and will possibly be the normal canal+ channel. This is what i can make out from the polish forums.

    feck it so.

You could delay an online commentary on your laptop or PC to sync with the game. The commentary certainly wouldn't bother me

How do you go about activating the card?
Also, what type of card is it? Will a Dreambox with addon cam read it?

No ENGLISH commentry at the moment, but superb picture quality in SD and HD. for €160 for 12 months you cant go wrong.

The commentry doesnt bother me, but sometimes ill delay radio BBC fivelive, through a laptop running a small programme called "Radio delay" from a sky box (Using 2 rca to 3.5mm jack plug *2) as you'll need for input into mic/line in and one for output from headphone into an amp.

I still have 11months left on my Al Jazeera sub, so next season ill possibly go for a higher Cyfra + sub with Discovery HD/MTV HD/Eurosport HD on it.

Hopefully i'll be able to renew my Al Jazeera sub for the 50€ i did the last time:D

My Cyfra+ card works and updates in the following (Including HD)

    TM6900 card slot
TM1500 card slot (Not HD receiver)
    Diablo cam
    Dragon cam (No HD though)
    Astoncypt 1.05 cam
    Mvision 300 HD card slot
Ferguson CR 6900 card slot (Not HD receiver)

My Al Jazeera card works fine in those setups as well.

Al Jazeera is a fantastic package for all your Scottish, FA cup, Carling cup, Internationals (Including Ireland/England), Rugby, Basketball, Champs League, Europa league, English Championship, Spanish league, Italian league, Dutch league, French league.

Personally i dont see art showtime getting or sub leasing rights for next season either.

From what i gather from other forums, the EPL/FA are getting very strict with providers with what content they can and cannot show (Which i personally think is a disgrace, but they seem to be leaving the EU platforms alone, With only digitalb being really targeted by them), So Digitalb for me is a waste of time as they have really cut back their output of EPL now.

Again personally (My views), the bubble will soon burst with the EPL, They have demanded or targeted to rake in £1Billion this year (next season) from overseas subs (Last season was £650m), so this can only mean higher subs again and obviously smaller poorer countrys will not be able to afford the rights.

Diema (Bulgarian) is another cracking platform. Poorer picture quality and no English commentry but great selection of games in all leagues/competitions. Subs are fairly cheap as well, less than 200€ if you know the right people or 300€ from a 3rd party. ITV partner broadcasts on 16 east and in cyptoworks. Most multicypt cams/recievers will work with this card. Bulsat another Bulgarian provider that transmits Diema uses 39 east, which is a tricky satellite to receive as it is very low in the sky and is easily obstructed by trees/buildings (I cant get anything past 36east but have a fantastic view of the western satellites)

What about activating the card? Do you need to call someone Poland or does it self activate once put in the reciever?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,138 ✭✭✭snaps

satsklep activate it, all u do is put the card in your reciever/cam

thanks for the info, just the kind of information ive been looking for. I'm ready to invest but dont know what the situation is for next year is. Ive been thinking of getting a similar setup to yours, going for al jazeera and a cyfra+ subscriptions, what was the cost of the hardware in your setup?

between the two there still arent any guarantees of having the games that sky/espn show are there even with FTA channels is there?

cyfra have EPL until 2013. A receiver like the Mvision HD 300 will cost around 200, you'll also get the irish DTT test channels on that. You'll need an 80cm dish pointed at hotbird as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭elvis23

With the 80cm dish do you need 2 LNB's to get Astra FTA (BBC's etc) and then Hotbird (al jazeera and a cyfra+ for footie)
Thinkin' of getting the mvision hd300. was going to go for regular 60cm dish but going for the 80cm will future proof a bit i suppose..

I don't think there is a dual lnb that caters for satellites 15 degrees apart on a single dish unless you want to go Toroidal or something similar that one of the guys on here have.

Yeah, you'd be looking at either motorising the dish or adding a 2nd dish and using a Disceq switch.
