Dell P2310H Displayport Problem

Hi guys, hope this is the correct forum.

I have a Dell P2310H monitor which has the following inputs:

    - Displayport
    - VGA
    - DVI-D

I bought a Displayport to HDMI adapter off ebay hoping to hook up my PS3 to this monitor, have tried the adapter with the PS3 and it doesn't seem to recognise it.

Am I doing something wrong or is it just not compatible?

the monitor might not be HDCP compatible. this can cause issues with HDMI devices. have u tried a HDMI - DVI adapter?

    Cheers for the reply big_moe.

Ah I see, the DVI input is definitely HDCP compatible, I just assumed the Displayport would be also.

Haven't tried a HDMI - DVI adapter, although I do have one at home.

Will try when I get home tonight and post back.

Hi guys, just an update for anyone else experiencing the same issue.

The HDMI - DVI adapter worked fine, PS3 showed up immediately. For audio I used the AV-RCA cable that came with the PS3 and hooked the Red/White cable to a 3.5mm jack adapter, then just plug into a set of speakers and away you go. :)
