    Hi All,

Currently thinking about going with the planetx pro carbon elite, but just not sure whether to go with the durace 7900 or wait for the sram red which is due on March 8th? Any opinions? I have heard that durace 7900 is a bit quieter on shifting...but the sram red should be lighter etc....but also read that some people had problems with the sram red front deraillier?

any advice? what would you go with if it was your cash and why?

    thanks v much

Sram red is lighter and better looking. I personally prefer how shimano works. Thats just personal preference. I have one bike kitted out with Sram Red, one with Dura Ace 7800. Both work, I am just more used to the Shimano I suppose (and my tiny hands are probably more suited to Shimano). It does tend to be quieter than the sram alright. But its not a problem.

The FD is made of titanium on the red so it is considered to be a little too flexy and prone to sloppy shifting. Seems fine to me though, that being said I am not making changes whilst under 500 watts of load in a pro race where they tend to use the slightly heavier but stiffer Sram Force FD. I don't think it will be a problem for most mortals though.

thanks for the reply Quigs Snr....still cant make my mind up :) Guess either would be pretty good. Friends of mine are saying go sram red but they have never tried 7900 either.
